Sharp’s new software range for an efficient office

Hamburg, 29.04.2011

“Time is money”. This old adage also applies to document management in offices. Thanks to a new software range from Sharp for its OSA-compatible MFPs (1) , companies can now noticeably improve their workflow efficiency. The Kayleigh accounting solution optimises access control and order accounting, while SimplifyPrint enables documents to be printed directly from an MFP. In contrast to its partner-based software range, Sharp is focusing on the MFP entry-level segment with its own solutions.

Today’s MFPs offer all types of offices highly developed functions for printing, copying, scanning and faxing. However, employee work flows on machines are not always perfectly efficient. The new software range from Sharp helps to increase employee productivity, while also keeping costs in mind at all times.

More convenient printing thanks to SimplifyPrint

SimplifyPrint saves employee print jobs on the server until they actually need the document. After completing an authentication process, by entering a user name and password, for instance, the user can then select the relevant file on a network MFP and initiate the print job. This prevents documents from being taken by others, whether by accident or intentionally. Unnecessary trips to the MFP due to congestion on the data highway are also eliminated. “The benefits in terms of security, waste elimination, efficiency and productivity are plainly evident. Thanks to our pull printing solution, in the future, each time users go to the printer, their document will be waiting for them,” states Torsten Bechler, Information Systems Product Manager at Sharp Electronics Germany/Austria.

Sharp expands its software range

With its OSA Network Scanner Tool launched in early 2011, Sharp is stimulating the development of innovative software applications for OSA-compatible MFPs even further. By using OSA Network Scanner Tools, this technology specialist has developed an innovative scanning solution for small companies which allows bi-directional exchange of scanned documents between multifunctional systems and employee PC workstations.
